Black Crown – Sons of Anarchy, SAMCRO Edition
Hell yeah! All my cigar friends out here, who are fans of the Sons of Anarchy series….go get this cigar!
The SAMCRO KG-9 , club edition. For those of you who do not know, SAMCRO is an acronym for Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original.
I purchased this stick at a B&M located in Blue Ridge Georgia, for around $11 or so. Havana Day Dreaming Cigars. Nice place.
This cigar is bad-ass! Very cool band, and an amazing dark oily stick made by Black Crown.
Blended with a Nicaraguan Habano sun grown wrapper. With a mix of leaves of Nicaraguan regional filler.
At pre-light, I enjoy the appearance, and the cigar has wonderful notes of black pepper and rich spiciness even before lighting.
For those of you who are fans of the series, you will truly appreciate how cool the band represents the TV series. It is a mid length cigar cover, with a blood red background and chrome pipes like you would see on their bikes to the left and the right of the main logo. The Black Crown emblem is at the lowest portion of the band in a very nice script placed in a dark black with silver/ chrome trim. SAMCRO is written in the center of the band in an ominous and evil black with chrome trim, of course the familiar mayhem skull with the anarchy emblem in the center of the skull makes out the “A” in the SAMCRO name.
On my first few puffs, I pickup on a lovely smokiness of the base tobacco flavors. The SAMCRO, has an obvious black pepper taste as well. I take three or four nice deep puffs. Yumm!!!
Moving into the second third of this delicious smoke, there is not any specific change and seems to retain the peppery and spicy flavors. That can be a good thing though in a cigar, a nice firm balanced smoke. The ash is short, but a fairly even burn. It is not a razor sharp burn…but no canoeing or tunneling. The dark wrap has obvious veins.
The final third starts producing a stronger body and moves from a medium into a definitive full bodied cigar, A very nice surprise. I had some great baby back ribs smoked on my grill along with this fine Black Crown SOA. I finish this cigar in just over an hour and half and will definitely get more in the future as budgeting permits. It is a fairly reasonable priced cigar for as enjoyable as it is. I paid around $11 for this stick at a B&M in northern Georgia.
Blended by A.J. Fernandez, in dedication to the SOA series, they created the KG-9 clubhouse edition of this particular line of cigars. The KG-9 is named as such, based on the motorcycle clubs main source of income…illegal gun sales. It measures 6″ x 52 gauge, and a very slight box press.
This is a delicious smoke that I have previously enjoyed within the same series of brandname. The Black Crown series and the SOA series are all smooth, cool burning and flavorful medium to full bodied cigars across the board. No matter which of these you choose to enjoy as a smoke, you will be very glad you did.
Load up a KG-9, introduce it to the fire gods, sit back, and enjoy!
Always remember, no matter what cigar you choose to smoke….
Smoke what you enjoy, because YOU like it.
Cigar Commander Out.
