The Review Team …
Well first and foremost, I am a husband, father, and son. Secondly, I am a Master Mason. All of these things put
together make me the man that I am today. My goal with this cigar review page is simple;
I want to review for the everyday guy or gal. I have read tons of review on the internet, and some of them can get very complicated with crazy descriptions and what not. So I decided I wanted to talk to the everyday guy or gal, and let him or her know what an everyday guy thinks of these wonderful cigars. In the end, I want to share my journey through this wonderful array of cigars with the world, and do it so we can all understand! Please don’t be timid to join in, write comments, email, and converse among each other this way we can all learn together!
Hello, I’m Joe. I’m not a poet but I sure as hell rhymed there didn’t I? That takes talent. Basically, I’m a typical working class stiff, wife, three kids, a dog. Bills, irritating neighbors, and a cynical attitude. I eat and drink store brand crap, I live paycheck to paycheck, and I always look for a bargain to save money. As you most likely have seen, that follows through into my cigar reviews. I like bargains, and I like to keep my reviews simple, down to earth, and anything but pretentious. And the humor is a given. Some say I like to keep things simple because I am a simpleton, but I like to blame the fact I was born and raised in Northern NY in the middle of dairy country where there are a lot more cows than people. Quite frankly, the cows are easier to get along with. Yes, I went to college for a little bit, an art major with a minor in art history and anthropology, but ended up working at another university as a night shift custodian for ten years and then moved up to my current position as a night time general maintenance tech. A fancy name for ” you will work at night, alone, and fix stuff the drunk kids break”. Yeah, it’s fun. I also had a stint as a security officer. Imagine that, me in a position of power. Anyway, cigars and pipes are luxuries for me, and I am glad that I have the opportunity to indulge. I started smoking cigars when I was 18 or 19 and coming from a non-smoking family, that went over well. I started off like a lot of people, gas station gems like Swisher and Phillies, Dutch Masters. I didn’t have my first real cigar until I saw an add for a starter kit, you know the ones, send us $40 and we will send you some generic long fillers, and a humidor. From that point, there was no turning back. 19 years later, I am still at it, and I would like to thank Tony for giving me an opportunity to share some of my cigar experiences with everyone. I hope you enjoy the reviews and stories, and if you have comments, feel free to send in some.
